Dr. Smith’s educational achievements include a B.S. in Honors Biochemistry from the Pennsylvania State University, a D.D.S. from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, and a Certificate in Periodontology from the University of Maryland and Bethesda Naval Hospital.
Dr. Smith has been in full-time clinical practice since 1993 and in his current King of Prussia location since 1997. He has lectured nationally on subjects including dental implants, perio-pathogenesis, surgical & non-surgical periodontal therapy as well as advanced clinical treatment planning. Dr. Smith is the director of the Valley Forge Dental Forum which was founded to help educate area dentists and hygienists in their pursuit of excellence.
Dr. Smith received his specialty training in facial esthetics from AAFE and Robert Gordon, D.D.S., a leader in the art and science of lip and facial augmentation who is known as 'Dr. Lips.' His training in microcannula techniques came from experts at CosmoFrance Inc., a leading importer and distributor of European medical devices designed exclusively for nonsurgical esthetic procedures. Additionally, his training in advanced laser skin treatment came from Saratoga Aesthetics, a Las Vegas-based provider of medical esthetics systems and education. He has been featured on the Discover Health Channel for his professional expertise in the field of implant dentistry and smile esthetics.
Dr. Smith has been recognized every year since 2001 by the Main Line Today magazine as one of Main Line’s top dentists. He also has been recognized by the Times Herald as Montgomery County’s best Periodontist and Implant Specialist in 2009 through 2015.
