Before you get a dental crown we will need to shave down enamel and reshape the tooth so that the crown can fit over it. The tooth will be prepared under local anesthesia so the area will be completely numb while we file down the tooth. We will also need to take impressions of your tooth. A lab will then use these impressions to create your perfectly fitted crown. While waiting for your crown to be made we will place a temporary crown over the tooth until it’s time to cement the permanent crown in place.
