All our professionals at LKN Dental Sleep Medicine maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in dentistry.  Our philosophy is to provide the best available treatment for sleep apnea and snoring patients.  We believe sleep apnea patients deserve comprehensive care, which includes all available treatment options, from oral appliances as an alternative to or in combination therapy with CPAP.

Dr Pence has worked with patients since 2003 to provide oral appliances and find the best treatment.   He uses a team approach and will work closely with a Certified Sleep Physician to coordinate treatment.

If you or someone you love suffers from snoring, you're not alone. In fact, millions of Americans experience interrupted sleep because of their own snoring or a loved one's snoring. Restless nights of tossing and turning can have a significant impact on the quality of your life. Snorers experience fatigue and daytime sleepiness, memory impairment, depression, and even life-threatening heart complications. Snoring also causes relationships to suffer as loved ones disturbed by loud snoring are deprived of sleep, which leads to irritability, poor performance at work and severe daytime drowsiness.

At Dr. Pence's office, we recognize the frustration and health risks associated with snoring. We also know that when it comes to solving your snoring problem, you need a treatment that is simple and effective - a solution that helps restore normal breathing so that you and your loved ones can achieve a quiet night of sleep for a reenergized life.

Unlike most offices that use a single appliance, Dr Pence uses several different oral appliances, choosing the one that is best for you.  The choice of oral appliance is made after a thourough medical history and oral examination.  He most often uses the NARVAL, and is quite familiar with many other appliances, if and when they may be indiciated.  The NARVAL is one of the leading appliances in use today, and is backed by scientific research.  It is comfortable to use, easy to adjust, and very effective for treating snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.

Warning: Please do not fall victim to the commercials you may see on TV promoting "snoring appliances". Your problem is serious and requires expert care. (2 easy payments of $19.95 cannot provide this to you!) There is a critical difference between a custom-made appliance rendered by an experienced dentist and a clumsy one-size-fits-all appliance offered on TV.

Frequently the subject of humor, in many cases, snoring is no laughing matter. With an estimated 80 million people in North America that snore and as many as 160 million people negatively affected by snoring, the health and relational risks that accompany this condition are real. Don't settle for a poor night's sleep any longer. Call the snoring experts at LKN Dental Sleep Medicine today to learn more about oral sleep appliances and find out how you can put an end to your snoring once and for all. Although we deliver a wide range of dental services to our patients, we have a special interest in treating sleep disordered breathing. Sleep apnea is a type of breathing disorder which is a potentially life-threatening condition characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. Along with the generally decreased quality of life, people who suffer from sleep apnea also experience an increased risk of high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke and depression. You may suffer from sleep apnea if you experience:

  • Loud or chronic snoring
  • Long pauses in breathing during the night
  • Episodes of breathing cessation during sleep
  • Excessive daytime tiredness and irritability

Our Denver sleep apnea and snoring dentists understand the stresses and health risks that come with sleepless nights. We combine years of experience with the latest treatment techniques to help you reduce and even eliminate your sleep problems altogether!
