Melissa is a board-certified physician assistant with over eight years of dermatology experience. Melissa began training at Lake Washington Dermatology in July 2017 and has been seeing patients on Tuesdays and Fridays since January 2018! Melissa graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas and went on to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she graduated with top honors and earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. While at UT Southwestern, Melissa was a member of the Alpha Eta Honor Society and received the prestigious Schermerhorn Award, given annually to the top allied health student in the United States. Melissa is qualified to diagnose and treat skin conditions ranging from general dermatology concerns, such as acne and eczema, to skin cancers. She is also able to perform minor surgical procedures and cosmetic services. She has a special interest in educating her patients regarding skin cancer prevention and performing full-body skin examinations for skin cancer screening. Melissa and her family relocated from Texas to the Seattle area in 2013. She enjoys reading, strength training, sports and spending time outdoors with her family. She resides in Kirkland with her husband and three children.
