Are You Dealing with a Sports Injury?

Find out how a chiropractor can treat a variety of sports injuries.

If you are an athlete, then you understand the strain you place on your body every time you run, jump, twist or tackle. At some point, it’s only natural that you will experience some aches and pains as a result of physical activity. When this happens, it’s a good idea to visit our Attleboro, MA, chiropractor, Dr. Jason Miller, a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, CCSP, who offers a variety of chiropractic therapies to ease symptoms so that you can get back to what you love doing sooner.

What can chiropractic care do for me?

The goal of chiropractic care is to restore functionality back into the body, no matter whether you are having trouble fully turning your neck or you are experiencing back pain. Through hands-on therapy and different techniques, Dr. Miller is able to manipulate the soft tissues of the body to reduce everything from joint inflammation to muscle pain.

Most athletes come to us because they are dealing with pain, overuse injuries and traumatic injuries. These injuries may be the result of poor training or symptoms may appear gradually as a result of repetitive movements. No matter what might be causing your pain, our chiropractic doctor in Attleboro, MA, is able to provide you with the treatment you need to eliminate your symptoms and recover quickly.

What should I expect from my first chiropractic session?

This first session allows us to get to know you better and understand why you’ve come into our office for treatment. We will ask you to provide information about your medical history and ask you questions about the symptoms you are experiencing. A physical exam will also be performed to check certain things such as reflexes. From there, we will create a customized treatment plan that often includes spinal manipulation and mobilization.

What happens during spinal manipulation?

During spinal manipulation, Dr. Miller will gently and slowly place your body into different positions and apply pressure to certain joints and muscles in the body to alleviate pressure and to realign these areas so they function properly. Spinal manipulation will improve circulation to these areas, which will promote faster healing of inflamed or damaged tissue.
