GI Societies support earlier CRC screening starting in mid-to-late 40s

The United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) just published new guidelines recommending colorectal cancer screening start at age 45 (*B grade recommendation). Grounded in the evidence, the USPSTF embraced starting screening earlier, at age 45, a recommendation consistent with the American Cancer Society’s 2020 recommendation, the ACG’s 2021 evidence-based clinical guidelines, and the anticipated recommendations of the Multi-Society GI Task Force.
