Dental Phobia

Dental Phobia

Dental phobia, the fear of dentists, the office, the drill, the procedures, etc. I totally understand it! I know this, because I had this phobia for all of my childhood- up until I went to school for dental assisting. I know that sounds crazy- go to school for something that scares you- but, that's what I did. One of my reasons behind wanting to go into the dental profession was to 1) help others feel confident about their smile and 2) to help others fight the nervousness that comes with a dental appointment. Often times the dental fears come from a past traumatic experience, often when you are younger.. so how can we help get past it?

Our part to help you feel at ease is to treat you like family, we understand you are nervous, and we are going to do everything in our power to make your visit a comfortable experience. If you need to have the massage chair turned on, a bottle of water, a hand to hold, breaks during the procedure, nitrous oxide,  or just a pep talk we will gladly help.

Things you can do to help your nerves, deep breaths practice breathing exercises to help calm your nerves, one step at a time - if you have a lot of dental work needing to be done don't overwhelm yourself- we can break it down into appointments, and take care of it a step at a time, music- if you want to bring your earbuds and listen to music while you are in the chair be our guest! We will gladly let you drown it out- close your eyes, and relax!

I know that the visits can be "Scary" but just know you are in very good hands. If you have anything that you need do not feel nervous to talk to one of us, we are here for you.
