Dr. Trotter earned a Bachelor’s Degree in biology with a minor in psychology from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated medical school from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. Following medical school, she completed a dermatology residency at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital where she served as chief resident. After residency, Dr. Trotter completed a fellowship in cutaneous oncology at Boston University and acted as Director of the Pigmented Lesion Clinic at the Ohio State University from 2011-2017. She is currently in private practice with Dermatologists of Central States and the Associate Program Director for the OhioHealth Dermatology Residency Program in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Trotter is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Trotter has several clinical interests including prevention, detection and treatment of skin cancer and health policy and advocacy. She is a past president of the Ohio Dermatological Association and served on the American Academy of Dermatology State Society Relationships Committee. In addition, she is a Councilor-at-Large for the Ohio State Medical Association and an alternate delegate to the American Medical Association.

Dr. Trotter is the recipient of the Boston University Humanism in Medicine Award in 2011, the American Academy of Dermatology’s Presidential Citation Award in 2017 and the Ohio Dermatological Association’s Distinguished Service Award in 2018. She has been recognized nationally for being in the top ten percent of physicians for patient satisfaction.

Outside the office, Dr. Trotter enjoys reading, traveling and baking. In addition, she also loves public speaking and helping patients understand the importance of skin health. Her favorite part of the day is spending time with her family and Shetland sheepdog, Charlie.
