Foot Care Resolutions for 2016
posted: Dec. 28, 2015.
As we approach the end of the year we stop reflecting about what has come before and start looking forward to what lies ahead. New Year’s resolutions are part of the process – they’re a promise we make to ourselves to improve something – a plan to make our lives a little bit better. While most resolutions tend to be about overall fitness or taking advantage of more opportunities don’t leave your feet out of your thinking since they are what you rely on to get around. Here are some foot care resolutions for 2016.
Get That Painful Issue Fixed
Maybe it’s a long-term issue you’ve been meaning to have someone look at for a while or maybe it’s something that’s just happened but there’s an issue with your foot causing pain or discomfort. This new year take the time to find out what it is and take action to make it better. Get some ointment, massage it, wash it properly, and get some better footwear. If it persists take a visit to your favourite podiatrist and get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
Make Your Feet Smooth and Silky
Take the time next year to make your feet beautiful. Use cleansers, foot baths, and moisturizers keep the dryness out and drink more water to keep your feet and the rest of your body better hydrated. Clip your toenails in the right ways to prevent ingrown toenails and, if you’d like, polish them up with bright colours and nail art.
Strengthen Your Foot Health
2016 is the year to take your foot health to the next level. Start with better-fitting and more supportive footwear – especially if you’re going to start hitting the gym in earnest. If a higher level of physical fitness is on your goal list you’ll want to strengthen your ankles to prevent injury and warm up for workouts in ways that won’t cause strain. Remember to keep your feet clean and dry so odour and unfortunate side-effects like peeling skin don’t set in.
Every year is an opportunity to change one’s life for the better. With a couple of the tips above your foot care resolutions will be part of a healthier you in 2016.
