Titans' Jake Locker Expects Full Recovery by Start of Season

Titans’ quarterback Jake Locker has been off the field recovering from a Lisfranc injury and corrective surgery since November, but is expected to be back in time for the upcoming season.

This will be an important year for Locker.  He was the Titan’s first pick in the draft three years ago, but struggled with a sprained knee and injured hip before the Lifranc injury and recently had the 2015 option on his rookie contract passed over by new coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Locker seems confident about his return, and Tennessee fans and players alike have been very supportive.  "Everybody here that knows him definitely are always in his corner. You see the way he works, how much he puts into this, how much he competes. As a teammate, that's what you want to see," cornerback McCourty told USA TODAY Sports.

As part of his recovery process, Locker underwent physical rehabilitation and his diligence put him ahead of the originally predicted recovery timeline.  For treatment of an athletic injury, see podiatrist Dr. Edward Lang of New Orleans Podiatry Associates. Foot Rehabilitation for Athletes

Injured athletes are always looking for better, faster ways to aid their recoveries and return to the sports they love.  Podiatrists and physical therapists are often consulted to help injured athletes can get back on the field as soon as possible.  But rehabbing an injury is just as serious as the injury itself, and going through physical therapy or rehabilitation is often necessary to keeping that injury at bay.

Sports Therapist or Physical Therapist?

If an athlete gets a foot injury, it is essential to receive foot rehabilitation to ensure proper healing. Sports therapists are more focused on athletic-related injuries than general physical therapists. It is important for an athlete to become healed properly because if they attempt to get back into their game before they are physically well, they could re-aggravate the original injury or even suffer a new one due to their weakened state.

Physical Therapy Gives Hope

Physical therapy helps to keep athletes as active as they are physically capable, which will get them ready to return to the field once their feet become healed.
