Dr. Lynch is a native of Western Mass and proud descendant of Irish and Polish immigrants who grew up in the tiny Franklin County village of Turners Falls.

Despite the clean, country air, she suffered from childhood asthma but was fortunate to be diligently cared for by the late, great Dr. William Buchanan of Greenfield, MA. He single-handedly, cheerfully, and expertly managed her condition, provided her parents with encouraging and unfailing support, and demonstrated what a powerful and positive impact a caring physician could have on the life of a child. He was the living embodiment of the “Patient-Centered Pediatric Medical Home,” and it was his compassionate care and the special relationship that they had that inspired her early interest in Pediatrics.

After graduating from Turners Falls High School in 1989, Dr. Lynch attended Boston College, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 1993. She attended medical school at the University Of Massachusetts in Worcester, MA, and there developed an interest in the care of under-served and immigrant populations. She was fortunate to be able to participate in their International Maternal and Child Health Program, which allowed her the invaluable opportunity to provide medical care to nomadic Bedouin mothers in southern Israel, and children in both rural and urban areas of Ecuador. After earning her M.D. in 1998, she headed west to the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, where she completed her residency training in Pediatrics, graduating in 2001.

For the past 19 years, Dr. Lynch has had the honor of providing pediatric care to socio-economically and ethnically diverse patient populations, initially in Salt Lake City, UT and Boise, Idaho. In January of 2018, she achieved her long term goal of returning to her family here in beautiful Western Mass. She hopes to help improve the lives of children in the greater Springfield area, especially children from our Spanish speaking and immigrant communities, and is happy and truly grateful to have found a new home at HPA.

Believing firmly that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and that the basis for life-long health and happiness is early adoption of a healthy lifestyle, Dr. Lynch has a prevention-focused, integrative and personalized approach to her pediatric care. Her goal is to respectfully partner with her young patients and their families to help inform and empower them to reach their optimal physical, social, and emotional health. She has developed a particular interest in providing comprehensive care for children living with mental and behavioral health conditions, in particular, ADHD, Mood Disorders, Asthma and Food Allergies. She understands the immense financial and emotional burdens that chronic illnesses place on families and is committed to helping all children thrive by providing compassionate medical care and diligent, team-based family advocacy and support.

In addition to the formal education noted above, Dr. Lynch has received extensive and vitally important “on the job training” from her two beautiful children, Emma, now 16 (yikes!) and Timothy, 13. She lives in Wilbraham with her children, her husband, and the family’s very spoiled Holland Lop bunny, Shadow. In her free time, she enjoys travel, reading, hiking, gardening, camping, and appreciating the beauty of the natural world.

Dr. Lynch is looking forward to meeting and caring for new patients. After a few months "learning the ropes" in the Holyoke office, she will be splitting her 4 days of patient care time between the Holyoke and South Hadley office locations, starting in January of 2020. She is excited to begin this new adventure and is grateful to be the latest addition to the amazing HPA family!

Dr. Lynch sees patients 3 days a week in our Holyoke office.
