Dr. Detar believes that early intervention can often prevent long-term orthodontics and has done extensive training with growth and development. There are many types of functional appliances that will enhance the growth period, allowing less intervention later in life. Every child should have an evaluation around the age of 7 to determine their orthodontic needs.
