Biography:

Dr. Sowmya I. Kishor was raised in Yorktown, Virginia. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and received degrees in biology and chemistry as well as a minor in philosophy. She continued her education at VCU by attending medical school at the Medical College of Virginia and graduated in 2003.

She completed her dermatology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. During her residency she was awarded the opportunity to participate in a mentorship program at the National Institute of Health (NIH). She also was active in community outreach projects and worked to get free dermatological care to the uninsured patients in Norfolk. Prior to joining Palm Beach Dermatology she participated in a fellowship at St. Johns Institute of Dermatology (St. Thomas’ Hospital) in London where she focused on photodermatology and photobiological research.

Dr. Kishor is a board-certified and licensed dermatologist. She has been an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and has served on several committees. She is also a member of the Women’s Dermatological Society.

She practices general dermatology and sees patients of all ages with a variety of skin conditions including skin cancers, acne and psoriasis.
