Lasers:
Lasers do not make whining sounds or other annoying noises. You may experience the sound of a rush of air, since air suction is often used to keep the area cool and cleaner. You will be able to relax and be comfortable while the dental laser is in use. To use the laser, Dr Stidham has devoted training time and expense to be able to bring you the many advantages of this exciting new technology.
Lasers can be used to specifically target soft tissue areas minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. The Laser can be used for crown lengthening and for gum surgery to improve loose or diseased gum attachment to the tooth. Laser dentistry minimizes bleeding because the high-energy light beam aids in the clotting of exposed blood vesels, thus inhibiting blood loss. Bacterial infections are minimized because the high-energy beam sterilizes the area involved.
