A pilot study appears to show that PRP, a regenerative medicine with ties to natural growth factors and regeneration of tissue, is capable of regrowing. Should the hair follicles become damaged or if there is a disruption in hair growth and shedding, it may result in hair loss. This also happens due to conditions like alopecia, which causes hair to fall out in small patches and affects men and women. The study involved a trial to evaluate hair loss in women performed at a Florida-based Mayo Clinic with results published in the Journal of Dermatological Surgery. The findings showed that when injected into the scalp skin, PRP was successful in re-growing hair.
