Clinical Trial Tips

Windsor Dermatology is proud to participate in high-quality clinical trials for over 25 years. We are committed to these clinical trials to advance medical dermatology research and treatment. If you are interested in participating in a clinical trial, we thought it would be best to share the following tips with you:

Understand everything about your diagnosis. Prior to participating in a clinical trial, it is crucial that you understand as much as you can about your diagnosis. The reason being, it will help you determine what treatment is available and applicable to you. Clinical trials could be helpful to you if standard treatments did not work. You should understand the objectives of those trials to see if it will be a good fit.

Ask plenty of questions. You should never be afraid to ask any and all questions that come to mind when deciding if you will participate in a clinical trial. This will be beneficial to you in the long run as you will understand every aspect of the trial.

Be proactive. Once your questions have been answered be sure to be proactive about enrolling. Clinical trials have limited positions and you won’t want to miss your opportunity.

Jot down how you are feeling. The clinical trial staff will want to know every detail of how you have been feeling throughout the trial. It is easier to remember if you write them down.

Monitor your condition. Patients should keep an eye on their condition and pay attention to see if they get better or worse.

Plan fun activities during your treatment. To take your mind off of the treatment, plan some fun activities with loved ones.
