Dr Michael A Crossley

Michael A. Crossley DDS is a former Assistant Professor of Surgical Dentistry at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. He graduated dental school at The University of Melbourne Australia in 2000. He practiced briefly in the UK before returning to Sydney to become Clinical Director at Pacific Smiles Group, Australia's largest operator of dental offices. He provided dental treatment including dental implantology, IV sedation, and oral surgery under general anesthetic in the operating rooms of 2 affiliated hospitals, where he maintains current clinical privileges.

During this time he completed oral surgery externship training at 3 large tertiary care hospitals in Australia (Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin Hospital, Alfred Hospital) and at the Royal Sunderland Hospital in UK, at the Hospital of the University of
Pennsylvania, Crawford Long in Atlanta, Emory in Atlanta, Grady Memorial in Atlanta, and at the VA Hospital and MeQ in Augusta GA.

In 2005 Dr. Crossley moved to the U.S. and practiced in Philadelphia at The University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine, in the Medically Complex Care Clinic. He then moved to Denver, Colorado and completed an international program at The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. During this time he gained broad experience with specialist departments particularly Oral Surgery and Periodontics, and was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Surgery and Surgical Dentistry. He taught pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral General Practice Residents in Oral Surgery while maintaining part-time private practice at the neighboring University of Colorado Hospital.

In 2009 Dr. Crossley moved to Georgia and joined Dr. Koch's office. He enjoys working with Dr. Koch and he also regularly visits Australia for oral surgery treatments under general anesthetic with Pacific Smiles Group. Dr. Crossley has a dental research background in bone biomineralization and his thesis on protein sequencing led to unique publications in the prestigious Journal of Dental Research. He has completed thousands of hours of continuing education and is a member of the ADA. AGO, AAE, AAID and ASDA. He focuses his reading on research advances in Biomineralization, Implantology and Periodontics.

Dr. Crossley enjoys mentoring new graduates, and enjoys discussing interdisciplinary patient care with his specialist colleagues. Dr. Crossley is married to his wife Stacey who is from Warner Robins, and they have 3 young children.
