What To Expect After Sinus Surgery

Having sinus surgery is an incredibly important thing for those experiencing sinus problems for the majority of their lives. Fortunately, sinus surgery can end up improving the quality of your life and helping you get ahead by mitigating the problems that sinuses can cause.

However, it is important to note what will end up happening after sinus surgery is complete. You will need ample recovery time and a list of things to look after once you have received this procedure. Fortunately, Everyone's ENT & Sinus Center in San Antonio, TX, led by Dr. Christine Gilliam can help you understand what needs to be done after you receive your sinus surgery.

What to Expect After Your Sinus Surgery

The most important thing that you are going to need after your sinus surgery is a drip pad for your nose. You will notice that your nose may drip mucus and blood after your surgery. This is completely normal and can be remedied by having your drip pad near you at all times. You will only need to change your drip pad once you begin bleeding.

You will experience some swelling near your nose in other areas such as your upper lip, cheeks, and around your eyes. You can experience the symptoms of a head cold without actually having a head cold. This is normal and will go away in a couple of days.

You can return to work after 1 week and may return to some normalcy in about 3 weeks. However, if the numbness persists, you will need to contact us here at your earliest convenience.
