Luz Marina Viale was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She became a CNA in 1997 during her senior year of high school and worked at a long term care facility for people with cerebral palsy for 3 years. She then joined the United States Air Force in 2000 as a medical laboratory technician. She did 10 years of active duty and 3 years of reserve duty. When she separated from the military, she started her career in nursing. She did immunizations for Walmart for 1 year as an LVN. She worked at an outpatient oncology clinic for 7 years as a registered nurse before becoming a family nurse practitioner.
