Physician Assistant Thomas Brown grew up in Cazenovia, NY and has always had a love for the practice of dermatology. After graduating from Arcadia University's Physician Assistant (PA) Program, Tom received specialized training in Dermatology and particularly Dermatologic Surgery in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, working closely with physicians in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn). He continued practicing dermatology in the Philadelphia area until his wife Lydia completed her Veterinary Medical Doctorate from UPenn, when he returned home to Central New York in 2003.
Like all of our PA's, Tom has a passion for excellence, drawing from his extensive training as well as over 20 years of Dermatology and Dermatologic surgery experience to make sure we are doing all we can to help patients heal.
Tom is an active member of his medical societies, serving as a volunteer, committee member, and Board member in multiple organizations including the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NSSPA), Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SPD), NY State Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and Central New York Physician Assistant Association.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Lydia, a veterinarian with her own practice, and two young college-aged children. They enjoy biking, snowboarding, hiking, and community service.
"Tom has always given me very thorough skin exams and follow ups. I'm very appreciative of his care and attention to detail."
"I want to thank everyone at dermatology associates of Ithaca for the excellent care I received for my melanoma treatment. I especially thank Tom Brown and nursing staff for making my surgery care free as possible. Highly recommend."
