The first thing you will do is come into our office for a consultation. We will examine the problem tooth or teeth to determine if a crown is the right restoration. If we do decide that a crown could improve the health of your smile, these are some of the steps you will go through to get a dental crown in Colorado Springs:
- A local anesthetic is administered.
- We prepare the tooth to make room for the dental crown.
- We then take impressions of the prepared tooth. These impressions are sent to an outside lab so they can use it to create a properly fitted crown.
- In the meantime, we will place a temporary crown over the prepared tooth to protect it.
- Once your permanent crown is ready we will remove the temporary one and then check the bite, fit, shape and color of the crown. If everything looks great, we will go ahead and cement the crown in place.
