About Us

Serving the Chicagoland area since 1960

Dr. Louis F. Scaramella founded Century Ear, Nose, and Throat in 1960, during the Golden Age in ear surgery. He was a member of many hospitals on the south side of Chicago with his first location at Western and 80th.

The practice then moved to Palos Heights’ third floor, on the Capitol Federal Savings & Loan Building. Dr. William Farrell, a Little Company of Mary Hospital staff pediatrician, introduced his son, Dr. Brian Farrell, to Dr. Scaramella. Brian joined him in practice in 1986. The practice doubled its patient base that summer.

Bringing the most up to date techniques in pediatric and head and neck surgery, Dr. Philip Kooiker and Dr. Silvio Marra were both added to the group in the mid-1990s. The practice increased availability to six days a week and started to include evening hours. The practice relocated to Orland Park in 1998.

Century was chosen as a name to represent the ongoing progress in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Century continues to grow and provide university level care in the south suburbs.

We are proud of our history of excellence and thank you for your trust in providing you the latest and highest quality of care.
