General wellness exams can last from one to two hours, and typically include
a physical exam, an overview of personal and family medical history, and a
discussion about healthy lifestyle choices. Dr. Piliszek will review any
over-the-counter or prescription medications you’ve been taking, as
well as any vitamin/mineral supplements.
The comprehensive exam includes:
- Height/ Weight check
- Body Mass Index (BMI)- "normal", "overweight" or "OBESE"
- Blood Pressure check
- Throat check
- Ear check
- Eye check
- Mouth check
- Check the skin for any abnormalities
- Rectal exams to check prostate (MEN ONLY)
- Urinalysis
- Basic Laboratory Services
A 14 hour fast is recommended the night before to ensure a more accurate baseline for bloodwork.
It’s important to take some time out of your busy life to focus on your health. Prevention is better than cure. Dr. Piliszek counsels patients about exercise, healthy eating, stress relief, adequate sleep, and other complimentary solutions to wellbeing. Our office focuses on early detection of comorbidities. Even if you feel asymptomatic, you may still be on the verge of sickness. We provide an individualized service by treating the whole person instead of the sum of their parts.
