Giving Back: Kansas City Foot and Ankle volunteers at the Challenge Air Fly Day

Last Saturday our KCFA volunteers participated in the Challenge Air Fly Day at the Downtown Airport. This was a wonderful experience where we helped special needs kids get an opportunity to "co-pilot" a single-engine airplane and discover that the sky is the limit. Over a hundred families participated in this annual event that featured 31 planes and volunteer pilots. The impact of this experience on the kids and their families was amazing. The kids actually get to take control of the yoke and fly the plane for a brief time. They then received their co-pilot certificate and wings.
