What to Expect:

Your initial appointment will be a comprehensive 60 minute psychiatric examination. At that time, your provider will actively listen to your presenting symptoms and seek to understand them in the context of your psychiatric, family, medical, developmental, personal, and social history to determine an initial diagnosis and treatment plan.

It is important to keep in mind that although the initial evaluation is intended to establish or rule our a diagnosis with a high degree of accuracy, many mental health conditions follow a fluctuating course, and it is often necessary to have several follow up visits for a positive response to treatment.
