Dr. Finch is one of the few surgeons in the area performing the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing. This surgery treats hip arthritis, as does the total hip arthroplasty, but is designed for the younger, more active patient. It provides a metal on metal articulation that allows for high impact sports, such as running, basketball, skiing and hockey, to be continued after healing. It is also considered a bone saving procedure.
