Our Mission

Dr. Markenson and the dental professionals at Port Road Dental are pleased to welcome you to our website. At Port Road Dental, our philosophy is to provide treatment to the whole person with a special focus on how our teeth and gums relate to your total body health. We want you to be confident that your smile achieves your goals for comfort, function and appearance.

Our practice is a cosmetic – family practice, which means we enjoy seeing adults and children of all ages. I use only non metallic, aesthetic tooth colored restorations. We offer a full range of general & cosmetic dental treatments in our office to help you achieve your perfect smile, focusing on preventive care to advanced restorative treatments.

I have a commitment to continuing education to make sure my practice is always current with the latest and safest dental technology and techniques.

My objective is to be your personal dentist, the one responsible for all your dental needs. I will be the one to follow your case to ensure completion and satisfaction. If you have an after-hours emergency, I am available for questions or concerns.

We have two dental hygienists, in addition to our dental staff members to assist you. We utilize low radiation digital technology and are OSHA and HIPPA compliant.

Most importantly, I will listen to you, and together, we will provide a treatment plan that ensures the best outcome based on your specific needs.

  • Dr.
    James Markenson
    DDS

    Dr. James Markenson was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He graduated from Marquette School of Dentistry in 1983. Postgraduate, he completed a one-year general practice residency program at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.

    Dr. Markenson has been in private practice since 1983. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association and Greater Milwaukee Dental Association. He has served as a committee chairman involved with the health and wellbeing of general practitioners throughout the state.

    Dr. Markenson is committed to giving back to the community providing his services to Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, and Donated Dental Services.

    Dr. Markenson is an avid reader, loves to travel, hike, play guitar, and ride his motorcycle. He is the father of 3 daughters, and is married to Nanci, who is also his office manager.
