Dental Staff

Dr. Nelis was raised in West Michigan.  He is a graduate of Zeeland East High School and Hope College, where he earned a degree in Psychology and played on the men’s basketball team.  Following his time at Hope College he earned his degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.  Following dental school, Dr. Nelis enrolled in a general practice residency program at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL.  This residency program provided in depth experience in areas such as oral surgery, dental implants, emergency medicine, special needs dentistry, Invisalign orthodontic certification and community outreach.  

Dr. Nelis’ wife, Lauren, also grew up in Zeeland.  She then attended Hope College where she graduated with a degree in elementary education.  The two now have a two year old son name Bennett who they are beyond excited to raise in their hometown, surrounded by family and friends. 

Dr. Nelis and his wife feel blessed to be back serving the people of West Michigan.   I am truly excited for the relationships you will form with them as well.
