Platelet Rich Fibrin

What is Platelet Rich Fibrin?

PRF is a material derived from the patient's own blood. Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) has been used in regenerative medicine for years and recently came to treatment with dental implants.

Why is Platelet Rich Fibrin Used?

Once placed in the body, PRF starts biological events of healing and body defense. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) has concentrated growth factors that speed the healing of bone around dental implants and helps the regeneration of  bone grafts.

How is Platelet Rich Fibrin Prepared?

A small quantity of blood is aseptically drawn from the patient just before placing dental implants. The blood sample is placed in test tubes and spun in a centrifuge. Spinning allows for the separation of the Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) from blood.
