Skin Cancer

Dr. Strnot evaluates and diagnosis all types of skin cancers. He is also trained in the specialized treatment of Basal Cell and Squamous Cell carcinomas utilizing the Mohs surgery technique. This surgery is done in the office and offers the most effective treatment for these types of cancers.

Moles and Melanoma

While many moles are common and harmless, some moles may become cancerous. It is a good idea to have your moles checked by a dermatologist regularly, especially if you notice any changes in them.

Acne

Acne is a common issue for many adolescents, but it can also impact adults. There are many effective acne treatments available. Not every acne treatment works for everyone, but virtually every case of acne can be controlled.

Age Lines

There are a variety of options available for treating age lines and wrinkles. Botox and Fillers are two of Dr. Strnot’s favorites.

Rosacea

Facial redness, bumps, and noticeable blood vessels can all be signs of a skin condition called rosacea. Sometimes it may appear to look much like acne. Although there is no cure for this common skin condition, it can be effectively managed with medications such as antibiotics or topical medications.

Cysts

Cysts are non-cancerous bumps under the skin that are typically filled with fluid or other substances. They are created by blocked glands and can result in infection. Treatments can include oral antibiotics, draining of the lesion or in office surgical removal.

Warts & Molluscum Contagiosum

Warts and Molluscum Contagiosum are bumps that are caused by a virus that has penetrated the skin. They can appear anywhere on the body. Because they are caused by a virus, they are contagious. There are a variety of treatment options available depending on where they are located. There are topical anesthetic agents available that significantly reduce the discomfort when treating warts especially on younger patients.

Rashes, Eczema, Skin Allergies

Rashes are characterized by skin that is itchy, dry, red, or a combination of all three. They may be the result of an allergy, irritation or eczema. Once a diagnosis is made, steps can be taken to find out what is the best treatment option for you.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic (long-lasting) disease. It develops when a person’s immune system sends faulty signals that tell skin cells to grow too quickly. New skin cells form in days rather than weeks. The body does not shed these excess skin cells. The skin cells pile up on the surface of the skin, causing patches of psoriasis to appear. Psoriasis may look contagious, but it's not. It can be triggered by stress or infection. You cannot get psoriasis from touching someone who has it.

Age spots

Age spots are typically related to sun exposure and are not a condition that needs to be treated. That being said, many people dislike the look of these spots and want to learn about how they can be reduced or eliminated. Dr. Strnot is happy to talk with you about treatment options.
