Dr. James Longton is the owner of Arizona Foot & Wound Specialists and has been in practice since 2006. Dr. Longton started his path to a career in Podiatry at Oklahoma City University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received the first ever OCU Freshman/Sophomore Biology Special Achievement award and was recognized once again as a Senior receiving the Beta Beta Beta Outstanding Science Student Award.

Dr. Longton attended podiatry school at California School of Podiatric Medicine on a President’s Academic Scholarship from 1999 to 2003. He began his residency in Phoenix in 2003 and completed a 3-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency in 2006 at Phoenix Baptist Hospital.

Dr. Longton has 11 years experience at 2 valley Hospital wound clinics treating all types of non-healing wounds including diabetic foot wounds, venous leg ulcers, arterial wounds, non-healing surgical wounds, vasculitis, and other atypical wounds. Dr. Longton also has extensive experience in treating all types of foot conditions including heel pain, plantar fasciitis, ingrown toenails, nail fungus, skin conditions, tendonitis, sprains, fractures, bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, arthritis, and many others.

Dr. Longton prides himself on being thorough and explaining the “why” behind the patient’s condition in attempt to help with quick resolution of the problem and symptoms and also to help prevent recurrences in the future if at all possible.

Dr. Sophia Stocks

Dr. Stocks is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She is a native Texan and completed her undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Stocks went on to teach Biology and Anatomy & Physiology to high school students of the Houston Independent School District. Not only did she teach at a Title I school for the underserved, Dr. Stocks lived abroad and educated students in South Korea for 13 months while learning a new culture, tasting exotic cuisines, and received the award for “Teacher of the Year.”

Dr. Stocks was so passionate about teaching that she pursued medical school with the hope of one-day educating patients about their pathology and making the exam visit and treatments a memorable experience.

Dr. Stocks graduated in 2017 from Midwestern University, School of Podiatric Medicine where she received her Doctorate degree. She also completed a rigorous 3-year podiatric medicine and surgical residency program at the Carl T. Hayden Phoenix VA Medical Center. Her residency training focused on limb salvage, reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery, sports injuries, several types of wounds (arterial, venous, lymphatic, diabetic), ingrown toenails, and various other complex foot and ankle issues.

Dr. Stocks is currently an adjunct professor at Midwestern University where she continues to teach the future physicians of tomorrow. With her extensive background and passion for education, Dr. Stocks prides herself in taking the time to teach patients about their foot and ankle problems in an easy to understand manner.

On her free time, Dr. Stocks enjoys cooking, playing guitar, singing, volunteering, and spending time with her baby girl and husband. She looks forward to forming a lasting relationship with each of her patients and their family members.



 

Eva Torres

Lead Medical Assistant / Office Supervisor

Eva Torres has been working in the medical field for over six years. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a Medical Assistant in 2013. Eva completed her externship in Tucson, Az at a internal Medicine Practice.

Throughout the years Eva has gained experience working with children in Behavioral Health, Department of Child Protective Services as a Parent Aide, Administrative Assistant, and also a Lead Medical Assistant for a Cardiovascular Practice. Eva Torres is committed to providing patients a professional and comforting experience. Eva enjoys working out and quality time with her family.
