Physician Assistants

Alison McPherson, MMSc, PA-C

Alison McPherson joined Dermatology Associates of Glastonbury in October of 2018. She attended Connecticut College where she graduated with a BA in Behavioral Neuroscience with Honors and Distinction. She then earned her Masters of Medical Science at the Yale School of Medicine Physician Associate Program. She practiced as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine before transitioning into dermatology. Ali is passionate about dermatology and is very excited to be a part of the team at Dermatology Associates of Glastonbury.

Nurse Practitioners

Alissa Watson, APRN (FNP-C)

Alissa Watson joined Dermatology Associates of Glastonbury in September of 2017. She attended Gordon College in Wenham, MA where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Health Professions. She then attended the RN - MSN program at Simmons University in Boston, MA where she earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree. She has experience in inpatient medical/surgical nursing and outpatient pediatric primary care nursing. Alissa has always been fascinated by dermatology and enjoys caring for patients of all ages at Dermatology Associates.

Outside of dermatology, Alissa enjoys running, singing, reading and exploring coffee shops.

Gail Smith Lau, APRN, MSN, FNP-BC 

Gail rejoined Dermatology Associates of Glastonbury in July 2019. She was a provider here from 2005 to 2015. Gail attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT where she earned her Master Degree in Nursing in 2001.  She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has 17 years experience working in dermatology.  Gail is described as easy going, compassionate, and thorough. She enjoys  interacting with the patients of all ages and has a special interest in contact dermatitis and psoriasis.

Gail stays busy with her four teenage children, two boys and twin girls. When not at the office you will find her in the stands at one of her kids’ soccer games, kayaking, hiking, spinning or watching the sunset.
