At Poole and Thomas Pediatrics, our team consists of experienced, compassionate pediatricians and friendly, nurturing staff members who take pride in giving our patients the personalized pediatric care that they deserve.

All of our providers are highly educated professionals who have undergone rigorous academic and clinical training in pediatrics. We maintain a high level of expertise through continuing education in order to provide the most up-to-date care for the patients we are privileged to serve.

  • Dr. Poole

    Megan Taylor Poole, MD, FAAP, is a graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Medicine and completed her residency there in 2006.  Since being certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2006, Dr. Poole has been in private practice in Lexington, KY.  The daughter of an Air Force helicopter pilot and nurse practitioner, Dr. Poole says she learned early on the importance of family.  “We moved around quite a lot, so my family was my anchor.  I love what children bring to families – energy and sense of connectedness. 

    Dr. Poole loves being on the water with her children, John David, and Claire. She also enjoys swimming, biking, and running. Dr. Poole believes that being a parent means loving your kids unconditionally, picking your battles carefully, and buying stock in patience! 

  • Kibbe Crowley, M.D.

    Dr. Crowley earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in 2005 and completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 2008. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She joins us from Austin, Texas where she has been in private practice for the past five years. She moved to Lexington in 2014 with her husband, Ryan, who is a Professor of Education at the UK, their children, Evelyn and Emmet, and their dogs Ty and Lily.

    Dr. Crowley is passionate about her commitment to families and helping families raise their children. She believes she has the best job in the world caring for children and their families. We believe her five years of pediatric experience will be a great asset to our practice.

  • Rachel Thomas, D.O.

    Rachel Thomas, D.O. earned her medical degree from Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Pikeville in 2012 and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Kentucky in 2015. She is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Thomas wants to make an impact on the lives of her patients, empowering them with the ability to lead a healthy life.

    Dr. Thomas is a native of Elizabethtown, KY. Her mother and father, a cardiac rehab nurse and a veterinarian, raised their four girls to be hard workers and steadfastly devoted to helping others. Dr. Thomas loves spending time with her husband and their large families, including their nephew and three nieces. She is an avid piano player and enjoys reading, cooking, and being outdoors.

  • Stacey Burnett, APRN

    Ms. Burnett is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. As a Licensed Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Burnett also completed her Bachelor's and Masters of Science in Nursing. She has had 15 years of experience in Pediatrics serving as a clinical provider with the Fayette County Health Department/Primary Care Clinic. In her capacity as a Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Burnett provides Well Child examinations and vaccine management. Additionally, she is experienced in managing chronic illnesses such as asthma, Gl problems, and diabetes. She manages the care of all children, including newborns, and is well versed in diagnosing and treating acute illnesses.

    As the mom of three active boys, she brings to the practice great empathy and understanding of the challenges of raising children in our society today. Ms. Burnett and her family enjoy traveling, hiking and cheering in the UK! When not at work, Ms. Burnett can be found watching her sons play baseball and many other sports.
