FAQs

We encourage our patients to ask a lot of questions, and we're always glad when they do. Below, you'll find a list of the questions that we receive most frequently, as well as brief answers to them. We hope they'll help you get to know us and the specialized services we offer.

Please give us a call if you'd like additional information on these or any other dental-related topics.

Are you a PPO or preferred provider?

Our office is a preferred provider for many Insurance Companies. A preferred status means we accept a contract fee for services which reduces your out-of-pocket expenses. If you do not see our name on your particular plan's website, please don't hesitate to call us for more information! Many of our existing networks are partnered with other plans which allows you to be seen here under one of the many "Umbrella" networks with reciprocal relationships, extending the reach of your PPO policy. Our Business Team is well versed in the Insurance Field and will be happy to verify your specific plan details and your eligibility level in our office.

Do you accept my insurance plan?

Our office will work with you and your Insurance Company, obtaining important facts about your coverage, filing all claims on your behalf, and accepting direct benefit payments in order to limit your cost to only the portion not anticipated as covered by your plan. Insurance is intended to cover some, though not all, of the costs associated with comprehensive dental care. Most plans include some kind of patient cost-share, such as deductibles, percentiles per service category, or other plan limitations unique to each group. Although we act as partners in your benefit management, as the patient you are ultimately responsible for your account. Please review the particulars of your policy in order to anticipate your specific policy limitations. Please provide your insurance information or any subsequent changes in advance of your appointment so we may acquire your plan details and guide you in your treatment planning. We will be happy to provide you with quotes for your treatment so you will be prepared on your visit date; we do respectfully request payment for your care at the time your services are provided.

How do I know when it's time to come in for a check up?

An average, healthy adult person typically benefits from a professional cleaning and check up every six months. However, it's tough to generalize because every mouth is different. Some people are prone to gum disease, decay, or other ongoing oral health concerns that require more frequent visits; others simply need a routine professional tartar removal at regular intervals. That's why we're so careful to check methodically and determine what kind of ongoing professional treatment will achieve your optimum dental health.

What about my children, at what age do they first see a dentist?

Early visits provide several advantages: they give us the opportunity to spot and prevent any potential oral health/dental problems; they can also give the child a positive, non-threatening dental office experience. That's why we recommend parents bring their child in at or after the age of three, or at whatever age they're most willing to communicate with an adult other than a parent.
