Emergency Dental Treatment
If you have a life-threatening or severe injury, call 911 or go directly to the nearest hospital emergency room. We can treat a variety of traumatic dental injuries, including teeth that have been chipped, moved, or knocked out entirely. Please call our office for assistance.
Tooth Colored Fillings
We utilize composite materials that are selected to closely match the color of your teeth in replacing decayed enamel. As a result, there’s no appearance of traditional “fillings.”
Crowns & Bridges
Teeth that are broken, severely decayed or extremely weak are repaired with a porcelain crown that matches the color of your teeth, restoring an attractive and healthy appearance with a fully functioning tooth.
A dental bridge is a permanent, non-removable prosthetic appliance, that replaces multiple teeth, providing dental (chewing) capability with a normal tooth appearance.
Root Canal Therapy
Dr. John is trained to perform root canals on teeth that have become infected or abscessed to relieve pain, and save the foundation of the tooth to support a crown. The final appearance is fully natural with a fully functional tooth.
Extractions
While we feel it’s almost always preferable to “save” a tooth, Dr.John is trained to extract damaged or painful teeth. Pain relief medication is provided to provide comfort during and after the procedure.
Dentures and Partials
All dentures are not the same, and we’re particularly pleased with the fit and appearance that our lab provides in custom fit dentures. We work with each patient to make sure that their dentures provide a comfortable and functional fit, and a great appearance. Partials fulfill the needs of patients who have multiple missing teeth, restoring an attractive smile, and full function for chewing.
Veneers and other Cosmetic Treatments
Veneers are a fantastic way to completely change a smile! When front teeth are discolored, misaligned, or severely chipped, our Veneers can create a beautiful and healthy smile. Veneers are a thin material placed over the natural tooth to create the color and shape of a beautiful smile.
Porcelain crowns on teeth in the back of the mouth are combined with Veneers on front teeth to provide a “smile makeover.”
Implants
Dr.John is trained in placing and restoring dental implants. Implants are substitutes for the roots of missing teeth and act as an anchor for a replacement tooth or crown. Dental implants can also be used to help stabilize loose and difficult to fit dentures and partials.
Sedation Dentistry
Yes, we cater to cowards at Scottsburg Family Dentistry. And, with so many safe options now for providing pain relief, why not?
Dr.John is trained to provide nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedations to provide comfort throughout your dental treatment.
We want you to enjoy having a beautiful and healthy smile.
Teeth Whitening
Whether in the office or at home, we’ll help you have a bright smile that takes years off of your appearance!
Migraine Headache Relief
Severe headaches often are caused by dental and jaw problems, and Dr. John will explore effective treatments for you. You don’t have to live with the pain.
Grinding or Clinching Teeth
Many people grind or clinch their teeth at night, which can damage teeth and cause bite problems or headaches. We have an FDA approved device that can help relieve this condition.
Periodontal Treatment
Teeth that have heavy deposits of calculus (or tartar) lead to decay and gingivitis (leading to bad breath). If periodontal disease progresses without treatment, it can lead to risk of heart attack.
Our hygienists are trained in dental techniques that remove the tartar, preserving the teeth and cleansing the mouth. We can often reverse poor dental care if patients get to us in time.
