DRESS SHOES SHOULD HAVE A 2-3 INCH HEEL HEIGHT
posted: Sep. 16, 2018.
When shopping for heels, it’s important to find ones that will accommodate rather than aggravate foot problems, says E. Charisse Dunn, DPM, a podiatrist and owner of PGA Foot & Ankle, PA in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. For instance, if you’re on your feet most of the day or have heel pain or plantar fasciitis, you should avoid flats and look for a dress shoe with a heel height of 2-3 inches.

The Clark’s Arista Abe Pump offers comfort through a padded footbed and rounded toe, and it comes in just shy of three inches. “This heel height will help reduce the strain on the arch, and since this brand also offers wide widths, the shoe can work for women with a wide foot or those with bunions or neuromas,” Dr. Dunn says.
