WEARING BAD CASUAL SHOES CAN AFFECT MUSCLES AND TENDONS

Unsupportive or worn-out non-running shoes can strain the plantar fasciae. And high heels tighten the calf muscles and Achilles tendons, says Jeffrey A. Ross, DPM, MD, podiatrist and associate clinical professor at Baylor College of Medicine.
Look at your shoes from behind. "If they lean in or out, or the soles are worn down, get rid of them," Dr. Ross says. Choose comfortable shoes with good arch support. And women, avoid heels if you can.
