A local resident who was once suffering from pain so great she was considering how to end her life is now living pain free, thanks to a pioneering medical procedure from a local surgeon. Beth and her surgeon, Craig Thomajan, DPM of Austin Foot and Ankle Specialists, are joining forces to increase awareness of a new procedure that can help those who may be living with chronic pain.

"When a nerve is damaged due to a traumatic injury or during surgery, a neuroma can form as a consequence. In order to resolve neuroma pain, you need to remove the nerve. We then insert a nerve graft to bridge the gap and provide a healthy structure for the nerve to regenerate,” says Dr. Thomajan.
