BACK PAIN WHILE IN A BOOT?

The EvenUp is a patented shoe-lift device that was developed by podiatrists in 2009. Walking boots are generally prescribed for use for 3 months (12 weeks) following a lower extremity fracture, sprain or surgery. The boot will allow patients to remain immobilized and reduce pain/discomfort while the area appropriately heels. Unfortunately, the boot creates a leg length discrepancy which can cause pain/discomfort and also lower back pain.
To correct this imbalance, the EvenUp Shoe Balancer fits over the patients shoe on the unaffected side and adjusts to provide a 1/2" to 1" lift which can enable the patient to have equal leg length and resume normal balance. The device fits on either the left or right shoe and comes in three sizes: small, medium and large.
In June, the Journal of Allied Health published an experimental research study on the clinical effects of wearing an EvenUp and showed a trend of improvement in patients who wore the EvenUp and reduced lower back pain.
