TAYCO EXTERNAL BRACE PROVIDES IMPROVED PATIENT COMPLIANCE

Patrick DeHeer, DPM, board-certified podiatrist, pediatric specialist, and inventor of the Equinus Brace, uses the TayCo External Ankle Brace for many ankle and hindfoot ailments. This device is versatile because it can immobilize the ankle, then convert to free motion, allowing for dorsiflexion and plantar flexion. “The TayCo Brace has become a very intricate part of my practice because traditional bracing that goes inside of a shoe is fraught with compliance issues. Patient compliance is much better than traditional AFOs,” said Dr. DeHeer.

The TayCo Brace fits outside the patient’s shoe and can be combined with an orthotic. “You get the best of both worlds. The patient gets support and stability from the brace, plus biomechanical and gait correction from the orthotics.” Dr. DeHeer incorporates the TayCo Brace into treatment of posterior tibial tendon dysfunction (PTTD) plus many other ankle and hindfoot maladies.
