National Asking Saves Kids (ASK) Day - ASK Day was June 21, 2020 and was a day when families are reminded to inquire about the presence of firearms in the homes their children visit and live. This initiative has been generally promoted on the first day of summer. During this unprecedented time, with an 80% increase in firearms sold over the last 3 months compared to 2019, this message is especially important. With more children at home and increased access to firearms the risk of unintentional injury is amplified. A recent study noted a 43% increase in unintentional firearm shootings by children in March and April compared to the previous 3 years. Click here for more information and resources.
