Norma Schmitz, MD

Dr Norma Schmitz grew up here in the Wabash Valley in Sullivan County. She graduated from DePauw University and then completed medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine. She trained at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine, completing residencies in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology. While at the Mayo Clinic, she met her husband, Dr Thomas Schmitz, and they are both happy to now call Terre Haute home.

Dr Norma Schmitz is board certified in Dermatology. She has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She is an Annenberg Member of the Dermatology Foundation and has been the Indiana State Chair of the Leader’s Society for several years. Her memberships include: Mayo Alumni Association, Mayo O’leary Society for Dermatology, American Medical Association, Indiana Academy of Dermatology, Indiana State Medical Association, and the Vigo-Park- Vermillion County Medical Association.

When not involved with her practice, Dr Schmitz enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She is dedicated to continued support and involvement with the Terre Haute community.
