Shemicka M. Asom M.S.N. FNP-C
I am married to Tavershima who I met while attending college. We got married and had kids who are very active in sports and school activities. I was born and raised in Queens New York. When growing up I was always amazed about learning the human anatomy and physiology and wanted to be able to care for my grandmother when she got old. Unfortunately she never made it to see me graduate college but she was the motivation behind me completing my degree. I completed my undergraduates at Cedar Crest College in 2007 and then went on to pursue my Master of Science in Nursing Degree with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner studies at Desales University in 2013. I am Board Certified with American Association of Nurse Practitioners. I have over 6 yrs of clinical experience working in family medicine, urgent care and mental health settings. While delivering high quality care throughout the life span from newborn to geriactric populations. Other speciality care experience includes womens health, HIV, substance abuse and transgender care holding DEA X license with the America Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

Tavershima Asom, Family Nurse Practitioner
I am married to Shemicka for over 15 years now and God has blessed us with 3 amazing kids. I was born in Nigeria and came to the USA in 1997 to pursue higher education. I received my Bachelor Science degree in 2006 at Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania and went on to complete a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner at DeSales University in 2009. I completed all my clinical training with rotatings in pediatrics, women's health, family and internal medicine at St Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. I am Board Certified with American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2009.
How did I choose medicine for a career? When I was a young boy, I used to go to the hospital with my dear mother all the time for various health issues related to uncontrolled high blood pressure but she was not getting any better. I promised my mother that one day I will become a healthcare provider so that I can take care of her. I was very fortunate to care for her as her PCP until the time of her death in 2014.
I enjoy watching sports and coaching my kids in soccer and basketball. I also enjoyed cooking for my family.
