Electrolysis

imageWhat is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a method of hair removal that sends an electrical current through the hair follicle in order to damage it at the root and prevent hair from growing back. It is done with a tiny probe that is inserted in the opening. The current produces a lye with the lye in your body to cause a chemical breakdown. It is the only form of permanent hair removal because of the chemical breakdown.  It usually takes several sessions to achieve permanent hair removal, as it is treating one hair at a time. Treatments run in 15 minute intervals. Our medspa recommends starting with the laser if your hair has pigment because it rapidly removes 80-90%, leaving any non pigmented hair that can                                                                                         be  quickly treated. Because it targets the follicle directly, this procedure works on any                                                                                         hair color.
