Dr. Marta Katalenas is a Board Certified Pediatrician, with over 20 years of experience.  She has also completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine, and is the only fellowship trained Integrative Pediatrician practicing in the Austin area.  Integrative Medicine uses appropriate therapies from conventional medicine along with complementary medicine to facilitate the body's natural healing response.  Integrative medicine takes into account the whole person, including mind, body, and spirit to achieve optimal wellness.  Dr. Marta Katalenas believes that optimal nutrition is the foundation of wellness, and promotes the anti-inflammatory diet.  Dr. Marta Katalenas also believes that effective interventions that are natural and less invasive should be used when possible, and that herbal medicines and supplements have a definite role in modern medicine.
