Dr. Vaughn
Dr. Vaughn is a gentle, caring dentist who uses the most advanced materials and procedures available in dentistry. He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry and enjoys getting to know each of his patients. In addition to his technical proficiency, Dr. Vaughn is a careful listener and will explain beforehand what treatment is best for your individual needs.
After earning his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Michigan State University, Dr. Vaughn received his doctorate from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry, which has been ranked the top dental schools in the world. After earning his dental degree, Dr. Vaughn completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Howard University Hospital. During his residency, Dr. Vaughn gained advanced training in oral surgery, implant placement, rehabilitation of complex dental cases, and sedation dentistry. He continues to remain at the forefront of his profession through his successful completion of several continuing education courses including advanced implant placement, orthodontics, Invisalign, and child management. Dr. Vaughn has also contributed to and was published in "Dentistry Today" one of the nation's leading publications in modern dentistry.
Dr. Vaughn strongly believes in contributing and giving back to the community. He has participated and volunteered in several missionary trips including a missionary trip to Africa.
There, Dr. Vaughn, working with other medical professionals, helped to provide dental care to an underserved village, consisting primarily of women and children. He has also participated in the local big brother program where he served as a mentor for at-risk children with incarcerated parents.
He enjoys exercising, golf, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife Brina, and their three children Leah, Lauren, and Brandon
Dr. Mansouri
Dr. Mazda Mansouri believes fostering relationships based on mutual respect and trust are the foundation for building a lasting doctor-patient relationship. He creates a positive rapport with each patient by expressing a sincere interest in who they are as an individual. Giving hope to a patient, watching their reaction when their treatment is complete, and leaving with a smile, is why Dr. Mansouri chose dentistry as his profession. His motto is informing before performing, and wants his patients to be involved in their treatment plans.
Dr. Mansouri understands the unique connection our mouths have to our overall health. “The mouth is the gateway to the body. That is why I am committed to helping educate patients on the importance of maintaining proper oral hygiene and dental health. There is no greater joy than providing a service to others, where they can leave more confident than when they walked in.”
Dr. Mansouri attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He continued his education at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, MD, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Mansouri loves travelling, hiking, and playing piano. He loves learning about new cultures, trying new foods, and staying informed about current events. Lastly, Dr. Mansouri is an avid sports fan. He supports all DC Sports teams and his favorite Soccer team is Arsenal.
Brina Vaughn, RDH
Practice Administrator
Brina Vaughn, is a caring, highly skilled clinician who provides gentle yet thorough preventative care to her patients. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Human Relations from Trinity College, Brina received her Dental Hygiene Certification at Howard University's College of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association, Virginia Dental Hygiene Association, and the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Brina's gentle touch and warm personality make her a great addition to our team. She believes preventative care and patient education are key to maintaining optimal oral and systemic health.
Brina enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their three children Leah, Lauren, and Brandon. She looks forward to welcoming you to Pure Dental!
Kristin Safi, RDH
Our Dental Hygienist, Kristin, is a kind and compassionate clinician that strongly believes in an approach to dental hygiene that is meticulous yet extremely gentle. Kristin earned her Associate’s Degree in General Studies in her hometown of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She then went on to receive her Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene at Allegany College of Maryland, where she was elected Vice President of her class and the Student American Dental Hygiene Association (SADHA). Kristin was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Kristin is devoted to patient care and education and will go out of her way to make your dental experience a positive one! Her caring and sympathetic nature makes her a great addition to our team.
Kristin enjoys spending time with her friends and family and attending Zumba and Yoga classes in her free time. She looks forward to welcoming you to Pure Dental!
Maria Ferriol, RDH
Maria has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She started out as an orthodontic assistant and hygiene assistant. She obtained her dental hygiene degree from Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale Virginia and went on to take classes at Old Dominion University where she obtained her anesthesia and nitrous oxide certifications.
Maria strives to provide a compassionate, comfortable and friendly environment for her patients while being professional, proficient and educational. She wants to make sure that her patients have the knowledge they need to maintain good oral health as well as overall health throughout their lifetime.
Maria is a native of Puerto Rico. She has lived in Northern Virginia though for over 30 years now. Maria is bilingual in English and Spanish.
In her free time, Maria enjoys spending time with friends and family making memories. She loves going to amusement parks and waterparks with her son Skyler and enjoys long weekend trips and traveling.
Frances Best, RDH
Frances is a native Virginian. She was born in Alexandria and is now living in Manassas. She graduated Cum Laude from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associate in Applied Science degree.
She has been a hygienist for over 30 years and is very dedicated to her profession and her patients. She is very passionate about attending continuing education courses, which allow her to share the most up-to-date information on oral health with her patients.
She and her husband Nelson, have one daughter and enjoy cruising and spending time in the Caribbean.
Frances is looking forward to making rapports and long term relationships with the patients at Pure Dental.

Our dental assistant performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, and will work chair-side with our doctors. They will make your visit as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, help prepare you for any possible treatment, and obtain your dental records.
