Dr. Firas Katmeh is a highly skilled and compassionate podiatric physician and surgeon at Total Foot and Ankle of Tampa Bay. With a strong foundation in both academic excellence and clinical experience, Dr. Katmeh brings a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to foot and ankle care.

Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Katmeh earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. He went on to complete a Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Chronic Disease at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, where his passion for preventive and rehabilitative care deepened. Dr. Katmeh went on to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) magna cum laude from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois.

He completed his rigorous three-year surgical residency at UF Health Jacksonville, a Level 1 trauma center, where he served as Chief Resident. During his time there, Dr. Katmeh honed advanced skills in complex forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, as well as cutting-edge minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Specializing in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Katmeh is board qualified and a proud member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). He is also a leading contributor to the Foot And Ankle Surgery: Techniques, Reports, and Cases journal (FASTRAC), where his contributions help shape the future of podiatric medicine.

Fluent in both Arabic and English, Dr. Katmeh ensures his patients feel heard, respected, and fully informed. His patients often describe him as approachable, thorough, and genuinely invested in their recovery—qualities that lead many to refer friends and family for care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Katmeh enjoys life with his wife and three children. He loves playing golf, traveling, exploring new restaurants, watching football, and relaxing at the beach.
