Is Zoom Whitening Right for Me?

Find out if you should see your Trenton dentist for a professional whitening treatment.

What is Zoom Whitening?

Zoom Whitening is a professional, in-office whitening system that uses hydrogen peroxide as an active ingredient for removing surface stains Teeth Whitening and discolorations from teeth, particularly stains and yellowing caused by certain foods, drinks and smoking.

What should I expect when I get Zoom Whitening treatment from my Trenton dentist?

When you come in for your whitening treatment the first thing we will do is you a separator to keep your lips apart during your treatment. This will also help to protect sensitive tissue. Then your Trenton dentist Dr. Mehul Patel will apply the professional-grade whitening gel over your teeth and use a Zoom laser to activate the gel.

We will leave the gel on your teeth for about 15 minutes before removing it, reapplying a new layer of gel and then reactivating it. One whitening session will usually require three, 15-minute applications.

Are there different kinds of whitening treatment options?

While the Zoom! Whitening system offers a whiter smile in under 45 minutes when performed by your Trenton dentist Dr. Patel, if you choose to opt for at-home whitening treatment, Zoom offers several different kinds of strengths:

DayWhite maximum white: For those looking to great a whiter smile without having to wear their trays for extended periods of time, this formula will get you results in about two weeks and only requires you to apply twice daily for 15 minutes each.

NiteWhite maximum white: This is an ideal option for patients who either prefer to whiten as they sleep or don’t mind wearing their whitening gel for a bit longer. Results appear after about two weeks.

NiteWhite quick 3-day: This contains the strongest concentration levels to get patients a whiter smile fast. This can be applied overnight or worn for 2 to 4 hours each day.

DayWhite gentle: For those wanting a brighter smile but have sensitive teeth, this formula is the best option. Use it once a day for 30 minutes and you’ll see results in two weeks.

DayWhite Touch-ups: For those who’ve already gotten the results they want but are looking to maintain these results, this formula is applied for only five to 10 minutes a day.

How long will my results last?

After your whitening treatment, your Trenton dentist Dr. Patel will give you care instructions to help you maintain your new results. We will also talk to you about certain foods and drinks you should avoid to prevent future stains or discolorations.

With the proper care, your results could last anywhere from six months to two years. You may also seek at-home touch-up whitening treatments or come in for another whitening session when you start to notice your results are fading.
