Dr. Patel earned his undergraduate degree in biology and physiology from Michigan State University then attended the University of Michigan Dental School where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While completing his doctorate degree at the University of Michigan, he received the Comprehensive Care Award for excellence in patient care. Dr. Patel continued his education at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he completed a two-year post graduate implant surgery course.

Dr. Patel’s training includes experience with some of the leading professionals in his field, including extensive training in cosmetics. He takes more than twice the required continuing education required to maintain licensure.

Dr. Patel also sits on the Michigan Dental Association board of membership and participates in several charitable dental organizations. His goal is to provide the latest and most advanced procedures using modern materials and the most current technology. Recently he has joined the University of Michigan School of Dentistry as an Adjunct Clinical Professor.

"I absolutely love being a dentist. The greatest challenge is taking a patient who is afraid and apprehensive and making them comfortable. Today's technology allows our patients to have the smile they have always dreamed of without the pain."

Dr. Patel enjoys sports, reading, and scuba diving and being with his family. He also is involved in non-profit dental organizations, including "Christina's smile " which provides free dental care for underprivileged children.

We are pleased to announce Dr. Heba Abuhussein, Periodontist, to our office

Dr. Heba Abuhussein

Dr. Heba Abuhussein grew up in Saudi Arabia, where she completed her education and graduated the top of her class earning a DDS degree at King Abdulaziz University Dental School. She moved back to the United States in 2006, where she completed the Graduate Periodontal Program at the University of Michigan in 2009.

She loves teaching and has taught at the University of Michigan’s Dental School and King Abdulaziz University Dental School. She has spent the rest of her professional career working in private practice. She has volunteered her services in treating migrant patients at the University of Michigan Dental Migrant Program in Traverse City and has rendered free oral cancer screenings at local hospitals.

Dr. Abuhussein is an active member and Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology. She feels extremely fortunate to be in such a wonderful profession that enables her to improve the quality of life of her patients.

Dr. Abuhussein lives in Ann Arbor and loves nature and outdoor activities like playing sports, biking, skiing, and swimming. She spends most of her leisure time with her three dogs, friends and visiting her family.
