Dr. Sigle

John M. Sigle, DPM, FACFAS

Principal Investigator

Dr. Sigle is an advanced foot and ankle surgeon and the founder of the Foot & Ankle Center of Illinois. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and pursued graduate studies in biology at Illinois State University, Normal, IL. Dr. Sigle obtained his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.

He completed a rigorous three-year residency in podiatry and surgery at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, an affiliate of Michigan State University. Following this, he undertook an advanced fellowship in reconstructive ankle and foot surgery and trauma at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

Dr. Sigle served as an advanced surgeon at the Orthopedic Center of Illinois in Springfield and as a clinical assistant professor at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Division of Orthopedics. Additionally, he is the founder and Medical Director of FACI and Independent Clinical Research, where he leads all research initiatives as the principal investigator. Dr. Sigle is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgeons in both Foot surgery and Reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.


Dr. Gonzalez

Grant Gonzalez, DPM, FACFAS

Principal Investigator

Dr. Gonzalez is an advanced Foot and Ankle Surgeon and Associate at the Foot & Ankle Center of Illinois. He also serves as a principal investigator at FACI Clinical Research.

Dr. Gonzalez earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology Medical Sciences from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He went on to receive his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Iowa.

He completed a comprehensive three-year residency in podiatric and surgical care at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia, where he distinguished himself as Chief Resident and President of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine Student Club.

Dr. Gonzalez is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot & Ankle Surgery. Additionally, he is a respected lecturer at the Podiatry Institute in DeKalb, Georgia.


                                                  Kehkashan Arshad, MBBS, PhD, ACRP-CP, ACRP-PM

Lead Clinical Research Coordinato

Kehkashan Arshad is an International Medical Professional with extensive experience in clinical research within various prestigious healthcare organizations.

Dr. Arshad earned her medical degree (MBBS) from Dow University of Health Sciences, Pakistan, before obtaining her MCPS in Dermatology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan. She furthered her education by completing a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Karachi, Pakistan. She has also served as an Assistant Professor in Pharmacology at Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. 

Dr. Arshad's research expertise spans a wide range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, urology, dermatology, and respiratory medicine. Certified by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) as a Project Manager and Certified Professional, Dr. Arshad is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and patient safety in clinical research. 

She has played a pivotal role in the successful execution of multiple clinical trials, contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies for various medical conditions. Her dedication to advancing medical knowledge and patient care is evident through her extensive involvement in numerous clinical trials.

Matthew Shirani, MD

Clinical Research Coordinator 

Matthew Shirani is an ECFMG certified medical professional and clinical research coordinator for FACI/ Independent Clinical Research. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Dr. Shirani earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua, College of Medicine, completing his medical courses in Antigua and clinical studies in New York, Georgia, Maryland, and Illinois.

Dr. Shirani has served on the faculty at Vocational Nursing PRQ in Fremont, California, and as an adjunct faculty member in the Biology Division at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Chandler, Arizona. He worked as a clinical trial assistant and then as a clinical research coordinator at Broadway Medical Center in Melrose Park, Illinois.

He has conducted research at Rush University Medical Center's Neurology Research Department in Chicago, Illinois, and at the University of Illinois Ecology & Evolution Laboratory, Chicago, Illinois.

Michelle Amador, MD

Clinical Research Coordinator 

Michelle Amador is an International Medical Graduate and clinical research coordinator for FACI/ Independent Clinical Research. She earned her degree as Doctor of Medicine and Surgery with a Cum Laude distinction from Universidad Nacional Autonóma de Honduras, where she completed her clinical studies. 

Dr. Amador has served as a general physician in various hospitals overseas, gaining extensive experience in patient care, emergency procedures, and minor surgeries. She is proficient in clinical assessment, patient education, and data collection. 

Dr. Amador has also volunteered with various NGOs, providing healthcare to underserved communities.
